Day 10 Our route today was from Payson to Fountain Hills (where we met up with my uncle Allyn who brought us into Tempe/Phoenix) AZ and included a lot of beautiful AZ mountains and desert countryside including the saguaro cactus.    62 miles, 3,300 ft of climbing with 6,700 ft of descent into the Phoenix area.   The average temperature for the ride was 102F with a max of 113F!     Hot. Day 9 Our route today was from Camp Verde to Payson AZ up out of the valley from Camp Verde on a monster multi-hour climb and then through the beautiful forests of the Coconino National Forest northeast of Phoenix.  About 60 miles, 5,700 ft of climbing.  Big climbing day!   The average temperature for the ride was 90F with a max of 108F!    Enjoy the pictures and video!   Ride totals: Total miles thus far: 486 miles Total climbing thus far: 29,023 ft Rattlesnakes (dead or alive): 0 Skunks (dead or alive): 4 (actually all dead…) Flat tire competition: 1.      Leader: Darryll (3) 2.      Second: Jeff (2) 3.      Third: Ryan (1)

Day 8 Our route today was from Cottonwood to Camp Verde AZ passing through the mining town of Jerome, over the Woodchute Mountain range and by Prescott Valley before going up I-17 into Camp Verde.  About 64 miles, 4,700 ft of climbing.   The average temperature for the ride was 94F with a max of 106F!   We saw a small herd of Antelope coming down off the mountain.
